As Company Commander Craig provided combat leadership to over 250 personnel, overseeing equipment valued at over $150 million. His achievements included mentoring and developing officers and NCOs for higher positions, fostering working relationships with senior US and Afghan officers to share best practices, and spearheading highly efficient training programs.
As a testament to his leadership skills, Craig was rated as the best commander in the battalion. His strategic communication efforts ensured that information flowed seamlessly throughout the organization, increasing training completion rates and improving unit readiness. The expertise gained in both Company command and Brigade staff positions prepared him to help others enhance their own leadership skills.
An Entrepreneurial Spirit: Founding Currahee Overland LLC
Craig's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Currahee Overland LLC, a vehicle dealership and customization shop. Under his leadership, this venture gained nationwide recognition in the off-road and overland community, achieving over $2 million in sales. His marketing acumen resulted in a 50% sales increase, expansion, and the recruitment of additional employees.
The business's growth was further underscored by Craig's ability to network and establish partnerships. He grew a network of wholesale distributors from scratch to more than 15, supplying vehicles, parts, and accessories.
